Saint-Petersburg is one of the most "tram" cities of Europe. Extent of tram ways more than 700 kms. Daily on streets of city leave about 1500 trolley buses and trams which connect the historical centre of Saint-Petersburg to bedrom communities of city. The trams operate from 6.00 to 24.00.Fare is collected through the sale of special tickets. One ticket (a single one-way trip) costs RUR 5.00, it can be obtained right in the vehicle from conductors. For many petersburgers a tram is a favourite type of transport not only by virtue of a habit, but also because of an opportunity to have a good look at slowly appearing architectural monuments behind the big windows, scenes of life, pictures of a nature. For people constantly using public transport a tram is also a place of dialogue.
