The State Russian Museum. The Marble Palace. Heinrich Seipmann is the outstanding German constructive painter, who was one of those who greatly influenced the German culture development of the post-war period.
His retrospective in the State Russian Museum includes ßanvases and collages of the period since 1945 to the present day. The exhibition illustrates the evolution of the painter’s art concept that has hardly interacted with changing tendencies and fashion.
Since 1972 Siepmann developes rythmical oriented and architecturally planned compositions. He has worked out the style, playing with colours, surfaces, materials, ballancing them in a special proportion and involving the spectator into this game.
