Stroganov Palace
The State Russian Museum offers a one-man show of the Tiumen artist Alexander Pavlov. Seventy works of paintings in the realistic genre are exhibited.
Pavlov addresses the theme of nature and village life. He prefers the landscape and the still-life, sometimes the portrait. The artist aspires to show all the feelings, evoked when contemplating the nature. Dear forest corners, rural and village landscapes are filled with deep and simple feeling, pensive and calm spirit.
Flower compositions such as a bouquet in a modest vase on a simple wooden table against a pale wall background prevail in the artist's still-lives. The neutral environment emphasizes the beauty and the originality of the nature miracle. The artist's painting is filled with the true realism without any keenness on banal imitation.
