The Lenexpo complex, which occupies 13 ha on Vasilyevsky Island, poorly meets increasing requirements in exhibition activities. There are no possibilities left for Lenexpo to extend its area. A site of 100 ha is required to build a modern multi-purpose exhibition complex of 200-250 thou. sq. m. of working areas. After consideration of different opportunities, a site between Moscow and Kiev highways was chosen, which is not far from Pulkovo airport.

The new exhibition centre may preserve its old name “Lenexpo”, as this brand is well-known both in Russia and abroad.
