Unlimited international calls - and even videophones - are now a reality, St. Petersburg telecommunications company Telphin announced. This month the company will launch a new broadband telephone service in the city. Telphin's offer is based on a flat monthly subscriber fee of $49 allowing unrestricted call time to Russia, Europe, the United States and a number of other regions.
The service can be installed in homes and offices equipped with a dedicated Internet channel, such as the Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line, or ADSL. Installation fees range between $99 and $480, depending on the subscriber plan.
At the end of March, Telphin will introduce one more flat rate plan. For an installation fee of $800, two IP videophones can be hooked up in any two locations in the world as part of the St. Petersburg network.
