The Japanese shipping company K-Line (Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Limited) opens on Friday a regular ferry route between St. Petersburg and Central Europe.
A Ro-Ro ferry Volga Highway arrives on Friday in St. Petersburg to operate the route Bremenhafen-Kukshafen-Helsinki-Hamina-St. Petersburg. It can take on board up to 600 vehicles.
A ceremony of unveiling the new route will be held in the city later on Friday. The Russian ship Georg Ots will shortly dock in St.Petersburg before sailing to Kaliningrad. Then two other ships will arrive at the port on the Neva River. They will be operating between St. Petersburg and ports in Germany, Estonia and Finland.
