Russian President, Vladimir Putin, held a working meeting with the Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev, at the Kremlin. Prior to the meeting President Putin voiced his pleasure with President Aliyev’s aspiration on using any opportunity to meet and talk with him. Addressing the eminent guest, Putin stressed that the Azerbaijani President is always a ‘welcome guest’.
Putin proposed to discuss certain economic issues and invited the Azerbaijani President to participate in an international economic forum in St. Petersburg and in the CIS Summit.
In reply President Aliyev voiced his willingness to discuss bilateral issues and the situation in the region. "Any developments in the region depend upon close interaction between Russia and Azerbaijan," he emphasized.
The Azerbaijani leader noted that he was proud of the stable and amicable partnership relationship between the two countries. He confirmed his participation in the St. Petersburg Forum, ITAR-TASS reports.
