The Russian company First Furniture Factory (FFF) and the German furniture giant Alno (which is a part of the Whirlpool group) will set up a joint venture under the brand: First Furniture Factory - Alno. Both companies will have an equal 50% share in the JV, and are going to invest ˆ50 million to launch the biggest kitchen furniture plant in Russia.
The plant will be built on an existing FFF’s production area (35 thousand m2), while several new facilities (10 thousand m2) will be built on 1 ha ground area nearby, purchased by FFF in 2014 for capacity needs.
Within 6 months new Piatti production lines, part of Alno concern, will be assembled in St.Petersburg. The plant launch will be carried out gradually throughout 2015.
The planned capacity is 1 thousand case-furniture units per day (FFF’s current output equals to 300 case-furniture units/day), and the annual turnover will amount to 4-5 billion rubles. The new JV’s goods will be marketed in Russia and CIS countries. The new plant will produce all types of kitchen furniture, including economy class, which hasn't been included in the product range until now.
