10 years ago Russian center of emergency and radiation medicine was established in St. Petersburg. Its first patients were liquidators of the Chernobyl atomic power plant accident and inhabitants of the contaminated zone. Some 12 thousand people have been examined, treated and rehabilitated in the center during these years. Nadejda Gerasimova, deputy minister of emergency states, arrived to St. Petersburg to congratulate the doctors.
