The European Speed Skating Championship starts today in Erfurd, Germany. Two leading St. Petersburg's speed-skaters – Svetlana Zhurova and Dmitry Shepel – take part in the competition. The tournament in Erfurd is one of the last in elimination contests before the Olympiad in Salt Lake City, that's why arrival of all potential candidates is expected. But if Zhurova has already reserved her trip to the White Olympiad, Shepel is only in for this.
