The competition is held under the aegis of the St. Petersburg Public Council and consists of two stages The first stage considers 27 projects. All persons interested can view them till March 5. By March 10 the jury will have determined participants of the second stage (about 5 projects), and in May the name of the winner will by announced.

The monument being designed will decorate Mytninskaya Embankment, by Birzhivoy (Exchange) Bridge. By the terms of the competition the monument should reflect historical and moral categories of the main stages of St. Petersburg’s 300-year development.
