According to the press service of the air company, the reason for that is the beginning reconstruction of Pulkovo-2. Transferred will be the servicing of flights to Berlin, Hanover, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt, Prague, Sofia, Varna, Burgas, Karaganda, Astana, Kustanai and Alma-Ata.
Pulkovo company intends to complete the first phase of the reconstruction of Pulkovo-2 international airport in April 2003. A total of $25 million of investments is supposed to be brought in before this year is over. On the whole, the reconstruction is expected to cost $60 million. Once the first phase of the reconstruction is completed, the annual throughput of Pulkovo-2 is expected to double, reaching 3 million passengers by 2005, 4.5 million passengers by 2010.
