Silja Opera, with room for 1,400 people, will at the beginning travel between the cities twice a week. The ferry will leave at 16.00 from Helsinki and be in St. Petersburg at 9.00 following morning. It will return to Helsinki at 19.00. The goal is to have a more frequent schedule by 2003, as the demand will increase dramatically due to the upcoming celebrations when St. Petersburg is turning 300 years.
