Governor of St. Petersburg Vladimir Yakovlev, representatives of legislative and executive power, members of the city and regional administration, cultural and art workers, clergy, as well as cavaliers of the Alexander Nevsky Order took part in the ceremony.
The author of the monument, the sculptor Valentin Kozenjuk won in 1997 in the competition for the best project, although didn’t happen to realize it. The work was continued by his student and co-author Alexander Palmin. Photo: Interpress
