The Krasin, the legendary Russian ice-breaker built in the beginning of the 20th century, which played an important role in exploration of the Arctic and took part in a number of rescue operations (among them the rescue of the Italian Nobele expedition) became a member of the Association of Historical Sea Ships. Aimed at preservation of historical ships and provision of information on naval historical legacy the Association unites 90 museum ships from 9 countries.
To remind, nowadays the Krasin is at an anchor by Lieutenant Smidth Embankment, like the famous Aurora, and operates as a museum. About 50,000 people have already visited the ship. It is the only old ship in the world, which is still capable of independent operating in sea
