St. Petersburg City Administration has announces a plan to make a tunnel passing under the Neva River to divert traffic from bridges across the Neva River in downtown St. Petersburg. The 924 meter long tunnel will be built at the depth of about 26 meters and will be divided into two parts, three lanes each. The project will be funded by investors who will be granted the right to run the tunnel for the period of 30 years collecting the toll.
