St. Petersburg Governor Vladimir Yakovlev has voiced an invitation for the city's tercentenary to the James Madison Council, the Council of the Library of Congress.
The invitation was personally delivered to the Library's Director James Billington. The members of the Councuil, currently in St. Petersburg, have visited the Public State Library. They also plan to visit the Russian State Museum and the museums of Peterhof. Among the Madison Council members are 100 richest men in the US, the directors of big multinationals that are already represented on the Russian market or thinking of entering it: The Coca-Cola Company, Kodak, Microsoft, Petroleum, and others.
