The bronze angel crowning the Alexandrovskaja column on the Palace square will be protected from an atmospheric precipitation and humidity by the original reservation from plasma sputtering. The creation of sculptor Boris Orlovsky is cleared from patina and is in long drying from within.
A layer of copper protoxite - new tool which for long time should save a monument from corrosion. The main expert of Open Company "Intarsija" Vladimir Sorin has acquainted journalists with a course of works on the column.
Restoration of an angel - a component of the big works which are taking place on the Alexandrovskaja column which was erected in 1834 in memory of Russia victory in Domestic war of 1812.
Now on a column simultaneously up to 70 experts of different trades are working. It is necessary not only to strengthen a design of all parts of the monument but also to erase inscriptions on it, made by vandals. Exception will be made only for wartime marks on a granite and a high relief. This year the city has allocated for restoration of the column 6 million roubles. Completely all works are planned to finish by 300th anniversary of Saint Petersburg.
