September, 26 international festival of ecological films "Green view", included in the international network of ecological festivals EKOMUV, opens.

The "Green view" will be carried out in the framework of the “Week of environment”. This time in the framework of festival 45 films from 17 countries of the world will be shown. Besides traditional participants of the "Green view" - representatives of Russia, Germany, Estonia and other countries - for the first time the works to St. Petersburg will be brought by the Hungarian, Austrian and Swiss cinematographers.

Films are incorporated into thematic blocks: the part of them is devoted to beauty of nature, and the part - to environmental problems - from genetics to chemical pollution - and their influence on people’s health. Duration of films is different - from the one-minute animation film of Hungary to almost hour work of cinematographers from Australia.

The jury will sum up September, 29 on the closing ceremony of the “Week of environment-2002”. Winners will be determined on five nominations - Grand prix, the best film about region of the Baltic sea, "boldness in creation of ecological film", "for beauty and humanism", and also "for the most original approach to interpretation of environmental problems".
