As it is informed, under the patronage were determined by a classical toss-up: representatives of the territorial administrations pulled out pieces of paper with names of objects. As a result of a toss-up, for example, Pushkinsky district has got the zne where the most high-mountainous goat in the world is, screwhorn goats, Tadjik rams and chamoises.

In the spring, 2003 each district of St. Petersburg will be occupied with elevation of their "objects’" territories, cages, enclousures. Means for it should be found from unappropriated sources. Besides as far as possible, it will be necessary to promote maintenance of the animals by food.

Also both private and the legal person can take rare kinds of animals under the trusteeship. Similar "adoption" assumes, first of all, financing of charges on their feed. In particular, the social movement "The will of St. Petersburg" led by the chairman of Council of Federation Sergey Mironov has already become "reception parents" of the Indian lion Merphy.

Now the collection of the Leningrad zoo totals 408 kinds of animals 180 of which are regostered in the international Red book.
