The Hungarian Wine Center will be inaugurated in St. Petersburg in 2003Before the end of the year, St. Petersburg will see the inauguration of the Hungarian Wine Center. This was negotiated by the vice-governor of St. Petersburg, the president of the External Relations Committee, Alexander Prohorenko, and the General Councilor of the Prime Minister of the Hungarian Republic, Tibor Bayor. It is expected that the center will present not only the old wine-making traditions, but also paintings, folk art, and the musical culture of Hungary.
We’ll remind you, that currently St. Petersburg has approximately 40 different enterprises of diverse property ownership, with participation of Hungarian-invested capital. Additionally, St. Petersburg has the representation offices of the large Hungarian pharmaceutical enterprise Gedeon Richter, whose share on Russian pharmaceutical market comes to over 30%. During the 9 months of 2002, the external commerce turnover of St. Petersburg with Hungary comprised 11.3 million dollars, including export – 1.8 million dollars, and import – 9.5 million dollars.
