Some RUR 327 million were spent to maintain the city’s parks and gardens in 2002, and the 2003 is set at RUR 383 million. Eight new parks and gardens will be built, and six more renovated during the anniversary year. Renovation projects will commence in the Yablonevyi Sad in Frunzensky District, and Sosnovka Park along Severny Prospekt in Vyborgsky District. New parks will be built near the Suzdalsky Lakes, in Kolpino along the Izhora Embankment, and in Rzhevka-Porokhovye.
