The management of Volkswagen has made another application to the government of the Leningrad Region about the possible construction of a car factory in the region, Leningrad Region Governor Valery Serdyukov said on Thursday. He added that the local administration is offering Volkswagen a site near the village of Ulyanovsk, next to the Caterpillar factory.

This is not the first time St. Petersburg and Leningrad Regional authorities have stated Volkswagen's intentions to build a factory in the region. However, Volkswagen has not confirmed this information.
