‘Metro Cash & Carry Ltd.’ (an affiliated structure of the German ‘METRO Cash & Carry International’) is about to open its third shopping center in St. Petersburg at the end of 2004.

The news was announced by the CEO of ‘Metro Cash & Carry’ Andrea Francesco Martinelli at the meeting with the Governor of St. Petersburg Valentina Matvienko.

The company’s chief has made a point of the investment attractiveness and potential of St. Petersburg to develop international commerce. The press service of ‘Metro Cash & Carry’ reported him to have announced the company’s wish to raise the number of minor wholesale centers in St. Petersburg by 2007.
