10 September, first cruise liner has moored in the new sea port of St Petersburg. The port, located on Vasilievsky Island, is designed to receive big cruise ships and ferries, which used to come to the cargo port of St Petersburg. However, the construction works have not been finished: started in 2005 the project is scheduled to be completed by 2011.

The authors of the project expect the passenger traffic volume of up to 12 thousand people in the new port of St. Petersburg.
