The festival starts in Shostakovich Philarmonic's Major Hall with the premiere of "Beatrice" symphony by the local composer Boris Tischenko. Apart from this symphony about 20 musical works will be performed for the first time. As a part of the festival's program and in connection with the great composer I. Dunaevsky's 100th anniversary, a memorial board in his honor will be set up in St.Petersburg.
