The construction of unusual works of art began on the beach near the Peter and Paul Fortress yesterday. 13 teams from USA, France, Netherlands, Italy and other countries take part in competition. Today the authoritative jury starts to choose the best works, and all sculptures can be seen on the beach near Peter-and-Paul Fortress within two weeks.

The sandy sculptures art is well known all over the world. Two international festivals were held in Moscow in 1996 and 1998.
