Opening of a joint project of Solomon R. Guggenheim Fund and St. Petersburg's Hermitage will take place in the largest Las Vegas casino hotel The Venetian on September 15. First two expositions will be open that day in a new "Hermitage-Guggenheim" exhibition complex (after Dutch architect Rem Kulhaas project) added to the hotel.
In "The Hermitage Guggenheim Museum" an exposition "Masterpieces and Collectors: impressionist and early modernist canvases from Guggenheim Museum and Hermitage" will open. Well-known all over the world masterpieces will be presented there: Sezann, Renoir, Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso, Kandinsky and Shagall from the collections of Sergey Shchukin, Ivan Morozov, Solomon Guggenheim.
"The Art of the Motorcycle" exposition will open in the "Guggenheim Las Vegas" modern art and design exhibition hall. Such choice for the first exposition in a new gallery is not accidental - Thomas Krentz, the Fund's director is a passionate biker, he even drove from St. Petersburg to Veliky Novgorod last summer.
