The day of Dmitry Shostakovich's 95th anniversary an exhibition of projects of monuments to the great composer opened in the St. Petersburg's Artists Union halls. City's sculptors and architects presented about ten works. According to the contest's conditions, they were given a full freedom for their work : size, material and even the place for the monument the artists chose themselves. The contest's initiator – Artists Union's section of sculpture – invites every one to take part in the projects discussion. The exhibition works till October 7, after that a jury will reccomend the best projects for realization.
