Two unique masterpieces of 18th century Russian classical painting have been returned to Russia after almost a century absence. They are “The Portrait of an Unknown Person” by D. Levitsky and “The Portrait of Yakovleva” by Borovikovsky.
The pictures worth $260 thou. will be placed at the disposal of the Russian State Museum and the State Tretjakov Gallery. According to the director of the Russian State Museum, the paintings will be exposed to public after restoration, in 1-2 month.
