First of all, asphalt of the trottoirs along the square buildings as well as of the adjoining streets will be replaced by granite slates which carry a pattern. Second, in place of old lanterns the new ones will appear, in design close to the lanterns of the Nevsky prospect.

Decor lightning will brighten facades of the Winter Place’s five buildings, as well as the building of the General Staff, of the Marine Archive and the Alexander Column. In plans is replacement of the engineering network of pumping water system, of canalization system, gas-pipes system, electric wires’ system and communicational network system, that have not been replaced since the period of 35 years. The work will realized by VOZROZHDENIE (Renassaince) ltd., that won a tender for reconstruction at the federal level.

During its works the following streets will be closed: Bolshaya Morskaya up to the Nevsky prospect, Millionnaya up to the Zimnaya Kanavka, and the Palace Passage; as well as there will be closed the main square of the city itself, Palace Square. The work is to be accomplished by the city’s 300-years jubilee, which is, in less than a year.
