July,23 at 16.00 in the garden of Anna Ahmatova museum (Liteiny pr., 53) opening an exhibition of modern British artists " In Print " is held. Organizers of an exhibition: the British council, Anna Ahmatova Museum in the Fontanny house and the St.-Petersburg centre of the book and diagrams.
The exposition is placed simultaneously in two showrooms - premises of Anna Ahmatova museum in the Fontanny house and the St.-Petersburg centre of the book and diagrams (Liteiny pr., 55).
The ideologist of the project is British publisher Charles But-Klibborn, offered to artists to make series of prints in publishing house “Paragon Press” and given to them full freedom in a choice of themes and technologies.
The purpose of this exhibition, in opinion of organizers, not to show "evolution" of the British art in the certain period of time, but to attract attention to the printed diagram, which art potential considerably was updated in view of development new (including digital) technologies.
The exhibition includes 118 productions of 25 artists representing different stages in a history of modern British art - from post-war time up to well-known generation YBA. For the first time in Saint Petersburg it will be possible to see productions of such super-stars of generation YBA, as Damian Herst, Jack and Dinos Chapman, Mark Kuin, and also works of the brightest representatives of the senior generation of British artists Terri Frosta, Bill Vudrou, Richarda Dikona and of others.
The exhibition will last till September,15.
