Today conducting actors of theatre will go in Petropavlovsky cathedral. There they will lay red roses on a tomb of empress Elizaveta the First, signed in 1755 the Decree about creation in St.-Petersburg drama troupe, and white roses - on a tomb of empress Alexandra Fedorovna, which in 1837 has given to the theatre her name.
In midday all troupe will gather in Imperial foyer of theatre where at the presence of minister of culture of the Russian Federation Michael Shvydky and the governor of St.-Petersburg Vladimir Jakovlev there will be declared plans for a new season. The banquet on the occasion of a new season will be on an open balcony of theatre.
This year the theatre will begin the season a little bit earlier, because on August, 5 in the Àlexandinsky theatre the well-known Russian director Valery Fokin will begin rehearsals of new performance under the play by Gogol "Auditor". It will be the first performance of the program " From traditionalism - to a new theatre! ".
