Floral artists in Saint Petersburg offered alternative to a habitual Christmas tree The Christmas exhibition "Gifts to the Northern Palmira" has opened today in "Studio of flora-design" in Saint Petersburg. The exposition is prepared by the united efforts of floral artists from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Syktyvkar, Petrozavodsk and Pskov area. According to one of organizers of the exhibition Nina Mosharskaja, "it is both the gift to the city by New year, and the offer of alternative variant to the main holiday decoration - a Christmas tree".

In total at the exhibition 30 works are presented, they are made by schoolchildren in the "Studio of flora-design" of the House of the youth creativity. Each work is a small work of art. The composition "White nights", for example, is made of dry twigs, stuck all over with "hoarfrost" - slices of polyfoam - and decorated with a Christmas-tree toy "icicle". "Evening’s St. Petersburg" is twigs, wound by artificial needles and decorated with spangles and beads. Composition "Memoirs about the Petersburg magic" - imitation of light of the polar night - on the basis of dry twigs, and also flowers, spangles and glares. The exhibition "Gifts to the Northern Palmira" in Potemkinskaja street will work till January, 13.
