Over 2,000 participants will take part in St. Petersburg international festival On Friday St Petersburg will host the opening of the forth "Sounds and Colors of the World" international festival. This musical and art contest has been organized by the "Orpheus" International foundation and is devoted to St Petersburg's 300th anniversary. The St Petersburg festival has gathered over 2,000 participants from Russia and other countries, an "Orpheus" foundation representative, Lyudmila Sukalo told RIA Novosti. The "Sounds and Colors of the World" festival is special because its participants also include disabled people. The festival will present an art exhibition consisting of works done by people with hearing difficulties. Moreover, blind people and people with orthopedic abnormalities will participate in the singers' and dancers' contests respectively. Concerts and exhibitions in the framework of the "Sounds and Colors of the World" will last for four days. On January 27th the international jury made up of representatives from Russia, Italy, Armenia and Ukraine will announce the names of laureates who will be granted Grand Prix - an invitation to the next festival scheduled to take place in Italy this summer. The "Sounds and Colors of the World" international festival is held twice a year, in summer in Italy and in winter in Russia. The first festival took place in St Petersburg in 2001.
