The capital of Lithuania is to host the Vilnius -- St. Petersburg festival until November 27.
Talking to RIA Novosti, officials at the city hall's press center noted that the festival stipulated exhibitions, concerts, theater performances, as well as a business seminar.
Apart from its official delegation, St. Petersburg will send its culture figures and businessmen to Vilnius. For their own part, St. Petersburg businessmen will learn more about specific investment-and-business opportunities in the Lithuanian capital.
Two photo exhibitions dealing with St. Petersburg and ancient Russian architecture will be organized at Lithuania's Russian drama theater and the Vilnius city hall's conference room. The Russian drama theater will also stage St. Petersburg director Gennady Trostyanetsky's "Figaro - Here" (based on Pierre Beaumarchais' famous play). Meanwhile a music-literary composition "I Heard A Voice" based on Anna Akhmatova's poems will be staged at the Alexander Pushkin memorial house-museum in Markuciai; this event will be timed to coincide with the great Russian poetess' 115-th birthday.
St. Petersburg performers will hold their concert at the Vilnius city-hall building Friday, November 26.
