Destroying Authorship. A Martin Nachbar’s performance

On April 27, 2014, the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater and the Goethe Institute in St. Petersburg will present the premiere of a dance performance Destroying Authorship. The first night will take place under the frames of the “Week of Germany 2014.” German choreographer Martin Nachbar, one of the most prominent representatives of the modern conceptual dance, is telling about his relations with the Affectos humanos cycle of the legend of the German dance vanguard Dore Hoyer. The choreographer is trying to talk with the audience about his attempts to replicate this cycle and also to re-think its concept and more than fifty years of the stage life. The Destroying Authorship performance analyses relations between the past and the present, the known and unknown, individual and collective, and contemplates on the authorship in regards of arts compositions.
The performance will start at 7:30 p.m. Ticket cost RR 300. Tickets could be purchased at the ticket booths of the Alexandrinsky Theater (#6 Ostrovsky Sq. and #49a Fontanka Emb.). The Alexandrinsky Theater booths are open 11:00 – 19:00 (lunch break is 14:00 – 15:00).
