According to the Committee on Economy and Investments, the share of U.S. investments in the Leningrad region's economy is 70-80% of the total. The United States are therefore the region's main strategic investment partner. Construction of such major economic projects as Caterpillar-Tosno road technology factory, Ford-Vsevolozhsk car factory, and Philipp Morris Izhora cigarette factory, is being carried out with American sponsorship.
