According to St. Petersburg Governor press-service, the event organized by the Committee on Education and by “Nevsky syndicate” group is being held with an active support of the Committee on preparation and celebration for St. Petersburg’s 300th anniversary as well as the Committee on construction, town-planning and architecture.
In the contest which prize fund is USD 5,000 will participate the pupils aged 7 - 17. The proposals are as well accepted from families, schools, specialized schools, children’s homes, painting studios and creative groups.
According to the organizers’ design, the projects of young St. Petersburgers are to influence the appearance formation of the native city. Original and passionate, children’s works will become the base for designing and construction of distinctive houses, passengers’ zones, children’s and entertainment complexes.
The contest jury comprise the main artist of the city Ivan Uralov, Rector of the Repin Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture Albert Charkin, Director of the Ioganson Lyceum Larisa Kirillova, the leader of DDT group Yuri Shevchuk and other figures of the field of arts, journalists. Such an attention to the children’s contest is not random because this kind of a large-scoped program of the subject in St. Petersburg is new.
