dionis Photographs of the famous frescoes by Dionisius, from the World Heritage Listed Ferapontov Monastery, (near Vologda, 670 km from St Petersburg) will be on display at the Arts Academy from 10th of September until the end of the month.

Regarded as the father of Russian icon painting in the 15th century, Dionisius is largely responsible for what is known as the Golden Age of Icon Painting. Taken by Moscow photographer, Yuri Holdina, the original photographs showcase the singular beauty of the monastery.
