One of the leading Russian events devoted to the matters of environmental protection and rational nature management is the International Ecological Forum «Ecology of Big City». The Forum organizer is JSC "Lenexpo", acting under the auspice of the Plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Russian Federation in The North-Western federal region, Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, St. Petersburg Government and the Government of the Leningrad region, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, branch associations, specialized and business mass-media.
Forum includes four specialized exhibitions, conferences and information seminars with the participation of the leading experts in the sphere of environmental protection, representatives of governmental and business authorities, visits to the functioning environmental facilities.
The exhibition «Waste management: technologies and equipment» demonstrates such relevant for Russia topics as creation of the efficient organization plans and systems in the sphere of utilization of industrial and domestic wastes, introduction of innovative technologies for recycling of secondary raw materials with the purpose of their reuse.
The specialized exhibitions «Environmental services and equipment», «Air protection», «Water treatment» company-participants will present equipment and technologies for sewage-water purification, water-treatment, water supply and disposal, air-pollution control, and different services in the sphere of environmental protection for the industrial enterprises.
In 2010 over 165 companies from Austria, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Russia, Finland, Czechia, France, Sweden and Ukraine participated in the exhibitions and occupied over 4500 sq.m. of exhibition space.
The exhibitions were attended by 3 900 directors and specialists from 117 cities and 15 countries. 46% of all visitors were top-managers and medium-level managers.
