What is a visa to the Russian Federation

A passport-sized paper document

- permitting stay in Russia for a specific period of time;

- is issued by Russian Consulates in your home country;

- based on an Invitation (a Visa support letter) from a Russian party;

- is an exit permit just like it's an entry permit:
if you lose it or stay over your designated departure date,
leaving the country may be rather complicated.

A visa lists

- entry/exit dates;

- your passport number;

- any children travelling with you;

- visa type;

- the cities you are planning to visit;

- two photos stapled to it.

Visa fee

- is paid to the Consular service issuing visas in the respective country;

- varies.

You can obtain a visa at - Local Russian Embassy of Consulate
