The first Russian historical museum of engineering was established in 1813 and it is devoted to railroad transportation.
The exhibits comprise photos, models of locomotives and railroad constructions and cover the period from the first Russian steam-engine designed by the Cherepanovs (father and son) in 1833-1834 to the latest achievements in the field of railway transportation.
The building has been constructed especially for the museum.
