Czechia side plans to have in our city during St. Petersburg’s jubilee year
the Days of Czech culture, to install a bust of the first Czech president, Honored doctor of the St. Petersburg State University, T. G. Masarik (install it in the yard of the university’s philological department) and a monument to famous literary character—Soldier Schveik; to hold theatre exhibition—“Gogol in Czechia”, to organize performance of popular Czech rock-groups at the international rock-festival.
Besides, in Prague in summer of 2003 an exhibition will open, telling about economic and cultural achievements of St. Petersburg.
The projects were discussed on August 8 during the meeting of vice-chairman of the Committee-300 E. V. Lukin with General Consul of Czechia in St. Petersburg Mr. A. Murgash.
