According to the administration of Parks and Yards Economy, on the entrance arterial roads the work on lifting off threatening trees is on, as well as on maintenance of grass-plots and paths, mowing, planting of young trees, installation of small architectural forms.

For example, on the road A-121 undergoing reconstruction there was planned to cut down 1254 old trees, restore 73,000 square meters of grass-plots and 6,300 square meters of paths.

On the Pulkovskoe highway has been planted 205 trees and 4,920 of shrubbery; on the Peterhofskoe highway and the Leninsky prospect – 25 and 50 planted trees respectively will soon show up.

According to the opinion of Chief of the Committee for City Accomplishment and Roads Economy, German Vikharev – not all the problems are being solved in due course. One can feel absence of exact planning and coordination in work of the district administrations. He thinks it useful to develop for each highway its own project for the road design that will match that and that, particular district specificity.

There was taken decision to weekly hold talks at the office of vice-governor Alexandr Smirnov, with participation of the one of entrance districts and the Committee for Maintenance of Living Fund and other city structures. The heads of city administration are going to propose its programs of city districts accomplishment and reports on the work done.

Among the already accomplished projects is reconstruction of the Alexandrovsky Garden. There has been restored historically designed garden, existed in 1872-1896; as well was restored the fence along the Admiralteisky passage -- from the Palace Square up to the Admiralty embankment – spreading for 520 meters; there was done the installment of a number of small architectural forms. After the drawings and historical photos there was anew created metal fence against a grass-plot (its total spread is 7,220 meters). Sewer system is plotted under the garden now; planting soil was brought to create both flower-beds and grass-plots; anew were done foundations for the garden fences; were restored the links and gates of the garden’s metal fence.

Young trees and bushes has been planted in the Alexandrovsky Garden, the grass-plots and flower-beds cover the territory of 5.97 ha, the alleys making covers 2.41 ha. On the territory of 110 square meters there was done paving with tiles as well as the paving with cobblestone under the fence (175 sq.m.).
