Towards the Northern capital 300th jubilee Zurab Tsereteli will present the city with a monument to the founder of St. Petersburg Academy of Arts Ivan Shuvalov. On it, famous modern sculptor, president of Russian Academy of Science stated in his interview with journalists.
The monument will be placed either in the garden or in the inner yard of St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. For the time it is planned to accomplish the inner yard of the academy which at the present moment is in desolated condition. It is planned to cover the yard with a glass cupola. Bronze statue of the founder of Russian Academy of Arts Ivan Shuvalov will be the only one creation of Tsereteli that the sculptor plans to present to the Northern capital for its jubilee. Tsereteli refuted rumors on installation of a number of monuments made after his design by the year 2003.
