To 300-anniversary of Saint Petersburg one of its sights – the Ekaterininsky palace in Tsarskoe Selo - will be changed and will appear in all magnificence. All stucco mouldings of halls and facades will be covered with tinsel. According to the director of the state museum-reserve Ivan Sautov, personally the president of Russia Vladimir Putin has taken care of the restoration. He has ordered to receive necessary 140 kgs of precious metal.
It is supposed, that all works will be completed by 2010, however already in days of celebrating of anniversary visitors will see a significant part of the palace in its primeval appearance.
