Towards St. Petersburg 300th anniversary the state management of “Vodokanal St. Petersburg” is equipping St. Petersburg with special removable toilets-buses, General Director of “Vodokanal St. Petersburg” Felix Karmazinov reported.
He also stated that in the Central district “there is merely no place where to construct toilets”. All of the former public toilets of St. Petersburg’s Central district has been remade to in them various entertainment businesses of which the ground floor is occupied for shops and cafes, to construct toilets on the first floor will cause discontent among neighbors.
F. Karmazinov as well stated that each toilet will consist of two buses. It is planned that removable toilets appear on the Palace Square, the Bourse Square, at the Smolninsky Cathedral, Our Savior Cathedral and the Kazan Cathedral. At night time toilets-buses bought on city money will be cleared from the city center.
The price for visiting such a toilet will range from 5 to 10 rubles. According to specialists, territory for one toilet-bus must account for 100-150 square meters.
