Chairman of the External Affairs Committee of St. Petersburg administration Alexandr Prokhorenko had a meeting with a delegation of the Swedish External Affairs Committee.
The parties discussed the proposals of Stockholm on holding of joint actions dedicated to St. Petersburg’s 300th anniversary celebration. Besides, the parties were discussing the possibility of holding in St. Petersburg “Baltiisky Partneriat” project (the days of business meetings of entrepreneurs of European countries).
As well, at the meeting were considered the projects of laying a direct fiber-optic cable between St. Petersburg and Stockholm and of restoring a ferry passage “St. Petersburg – Stockholm”, participation in joint projects financed through TASIS and InterReg III programs.
To remind it our readers, trade volumes between St. Petersburg and Sweden in 2001 amounted to 161.6mln dollars. Export of St. Petersburg in 2001 comprised 56.1mln dollars, while import to St. Petersburg -- 105.5mln dollars.
