On October 2 in the Museum of Cosmonautics and Racket Engineering of St. Petersburg there were presented to cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev the flag and emblem of the Northern capital for him to deliver these symbols on international cosmic station.
The presentation ceremony was held at the press-conference devoted to the 45th anniversary of launch of the artificial sputnik of Earth. “The symbols of St. Petersburg will make a tour around Earth, and for the days of St. Petersburg’s 300th anniversary celebration they will be back to the banks of the Neva and will become central objects of jubilee celebration”, stated chairman of the Committee on Preparation for St. Petersburg’s 300th Anniversary Celebration Natalia Batozhok. Such a present for St. Petersburg’s Birthday prepared the North-Western Interregional Public Association of Federation of Cosmonauts of Russia.
